Your Ironing area
Ironing board setups can be portable and packed away, however if you have the space, you will find it easier if you can have a permanent setup in a dedicated area eg home office, second lounge room or garage area.
You will need enough hanging space for 50-150 items, this might include the inside of a cupboard, a dedicated clothes rack (look on ebay or ikea), or extendable tripod clothes rack (look at Howard's Storage).
It does get hot when ironing (especially in summer) so you will want a cool area with fans or airconditioning.
Your washing / folding area
You will need to be able to easily access your washing machine and dryer, have a space for sorting dirty clothes/linen, and have a dedicated space for folding clothes. Ensure that any surfaces are regularly cleaned and disinfected.
Health and Safety
Check that your working space is kept clear of any hazards and clutter, cords are taped down. If you have children at home ensure that any chemicals are safely stored out of reach, and hot irons can not be reached.
Ensure working areas have good ventilation and lighting.
Ensure equipment is setup ergonomically and that you take regular breaks.
Set clear work boundaries and make sure friends and family understand your schedule.
